SCULPTOR RICHARD ERDMAN AGREES EXCLUSIVE REPRESENTATION BY JOHN CLAPHAM & COMPANY IN VIETNAM

We are very pleased to announce that Richard Erdman, one of the United States’ leading artists, has joined other world renowned sculptors represented by our gallery.

Richard was born in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1952. He studied at the University of Vermont where he received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters in 2016. Richard’s contemporary abstract stone and bronze sculptures can be found in more than sixty countries in museums and collections including The Museum of Fine Art Boston, The Rockefeller Collection, the Donald M Kendall Sculpture Gardens at PepsiCo, The King Faisal Foundation (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) and the Sasak Foundation (Tokyo, Japan) amongst others.  His corporate clients include famous brands including Shangri-La Hotels, Deutsche Bank, IBM Corporation, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and Johnson and Johnson Corporation.

Most recently, Erdman has collaborated with leading architectural firms including Richard Meier & Partners and Citterio-Viel on two public projects in Taiwan. Richard works from studios in Vermont, USA and Carrara, Italy.

DAVID WILLIAMS-ELLIS – COMPLETION OF HIS LATEST PRIVATE COMMISSION

SEEN HERE PRIOR TO CASTING AT A BRONZE FOUNDRY IS ‘APOLLO’ DAVID WILLIAMS-ELLIS’S INTERPRETATION OF ONE OF THE OLYMPIAN DEITIES IN GREEK AND ROMAN MYTHOLOGY. COMMISSIONED BY A PRIVATE CLIENT, APOLLO IS TWICE LIFE-SIZE, WILL SIT ATOP OF A PLINTH AND ORB AND WILL STAND AT BETWEEN 7.5 AND 8.5 METERS HIGH. THE SCULPTURE HIGHLIGHTS WILLIAMS-ELLIS’S RENOWN FOR CAPTURING VITALITY AND MOVEMENT WITHIN HIS SCULPTURE.

'The Choir Boys' a charming bronze sculpture recently completed by David Williams-Ellis, has joined the Queen’s collection in the Chapel Royal at London’s historic St. James’s Palace. Sculptor David Williams-Ellis has just completed his portrait sculpture of Alan Turing, the British, World War II cryptanalyst. Turing’s work to enable decryption of Axis signals traffic played a major contribution in the allied victory. The sculpture was a private commission and will be presented to Sherborne School, Turing’s alma mater. John Clapham, managing director of John Clapham & Company said, ‘We are proud to represent David’s sculpture in Vietnam. His preeminence in the art of figurative sculpture is demonstrated by this fine piece.’
